Wave Crest was abandoned as clouds of uncertainty descended upon the US and Canada and the economy made a significant dive in what would later be known as The Recession of 1958, or "The Eisenhower Recession". Although much of the continent had recovered by 1959, the estate sat in lonely isolation; its curtains drawn and its doors locked. After Megan Calvet passed away in 1968, her children returned to the island, having inherited the estate. All they found was an empty shell. Unfortunately, sometime during the decade long period of loneliness, the estate burned completely, leaving only supporting beams and walls.This is how Wave Crest appeared in 1984, just before nature started to grow up around it. Today, there is nothing left of the once grand home - save for the foundation and beam remnants which occasionally protrude from the foliage. She is simply gone.
