We jumped up and looked out the window but we couldn’t really see anything. The sound repeated itself another few times. I was too scared to speak so my mum whispered that it was probably miles off and I should go back to sleep. I didn’t question this but I was still terrified. Every little thing I heard outside sounded like someone was walking around the house. We laid there for a while longer when finally my mum told me to get dressed because we were leaving. I got alarmed by this. We quickly packed up and loaded the car. I looked around for footprints that weren’t our own, but I couldn’t really see anything at all. I did point out something to my mum afterwards. There was a can stuffed with wheat by our car that wasn't there before. We didn’t even drink. She said she was nervous someone might have been trying to lure us out, so she didn’t think it was a good idea to run from the house right away. I don't think we are ever going to go back there again.
