The famed city of Tenochtitlan on lake Texcoco, which is today Mexico City, Capital of Mexico. This city was built on no land. It was actually developed on a swamp after being kicked out by another tribe. The whole empire soon expanded to about all of Southern Mexico and Guatemala. Many years after, the city was pillaged by Spanish Conquistadores, or one so called Hernan Cortes.
