[Classified] {Security Clearance 5} S373-RBL The Rail-Based Launching system is a highly experimental nuclear silo. Propulsion of the missile and warhead consists of three rails, interlaced with powerful electromagnetic pulsars. Upon activation, the rails spin at 5400 RPM, giving a rifling effect to the missile. The electromagnets kick in, pushing the missile at a rate of 2674 feet per second, and the missile reaches the required height of 56 miles above the surface, several miles into the mesosphere, in only 38.4 seconds. The destination is locked on via an onboard computer system, and correcting engines guide it to the final destination with an accuracy of 2.3 centimeters. The only propellant used is to guide the missile. Because of the strength of the electromagnets, metal that could be influenced by the magnetic fields produced is banned from an area 110 feet around the silo. The metallic-like components in the silo are not made of magnetic metals.
