Tributes raised blinded by the sun, only to be surrounded by a slippery layer of ice leading to higher, white-dusted rocks. Some arena dangers were: wolf mutts, hypothermic water, shattering ice, rock falls, and avalanches. Most tributes died off from starvation due to lack of food in the arena. Although severely crippled from the mace of her District partner, Arcyx won by outlasting all other tributes, and having claimed three kills.
