It wasn’t supposed to be anything special, just a 3-star place your mom picked after a long bus ride, somewhere off the road where the streetlights feel too far apart and the air smells faintly of dust and cheap cleaner. You and 10 other guests drag your bags through a quiet lobby, the receptionist barely looking up, the keycards sometimes refusing to work. The hallways feel slightly off - the carpet pattern doesn’t line up, some doors look newer than the walls, the ceiling a bit too high, lights flickering in corners you barely notice. You’re too tired to care, too tired to question it. You just want to fall into bed and forget the tiny errors you can feel but can’t quite see.
