Major cities all over the world, destroyed. Chemical warfare starts and quickly effects the entire population of earth, one chemical virus in particular: SAVV-1. The bio-weapon quickly spreads, turning anyone in contact with it psychopathic killers with-in hours. Martial law is enacted in the U.S. soon after the global collapse. You as well as others find yourself in a desolate desert in New-Mexico, one of the new small areas not effected by a direct nuclear attack.
