In 1869, the London Underground first opened as Metropolitan Railway. The first section was between Paddington and Farringdon, now the oldest section in the underground system. Right now, the underground is having the biggest upgrade then ever before in history to improve the community of the underground under a contract of 10 billion pounds in 15 years. There is a total of 270 stations and 12 lines. In the future, there will be new trains and many more improvemens, such as the Crossrail connections and many stations.
