Off the coast of Alaska

Off the coast of Alaska sits the Kodiak Islands. A small portion of Kodiak Island is owned by the United States Navy, used for weapons testing in the cold weather environment as Alaska sits up north, near the Arctic Circle. The USS Reuben James has been underway near Kodiak Island to conduct weapons testing for the Navy.
