NL | The City of Amsterdam[Under Development]

After declaring independence from Spain, the Netherlands was invaded by French revolutionary forces to install the Batavian Republic, and again by Napoleon's Grand Army of France. When Napoleon invaded, the Netherlands was declared a puppet government until Napoleon lost the battle of Leipzig. After the battle, the new Kingdom of the Netherlands was independently established. Amsterdam would then see two world wars and would be a Head of Western culture for many, many years to come.
