Description

The Oireachtas is the national parliament of Ireland. It consists of two houses: Dáil Éireann (the lower house), where members are elected to represent the people, and Seanad Éireann (the upper house), which reviews legislation. The President of Ireland is also part of the Oireachtas, playing a ceremonial role and signing bills into law. Its headquarters is in Leinster House, Dublin.
