Description
Mount Sinabung is a volcano in Karo Plateau, Karo County, North Sumatra, Indonesia. Sinabung along with nearby Mount Sibayak are two active volcanoes in North Sumatra and are the second highest peak in the province of North Sumatra after Mount Sibuatan. The mountain's height is 2,451 meters.[1]
This mountain has not been recorded as erupting since 1600.[2] Its last eruption is thought to have occurred around 800 AD. But a few years ago, Mount Sinabung suddenly resumed activity with an eruption on August 27, 2010.
