Collecting skills and items will allow you to access more areas, and thus explore more. Skills will most likely end up with badges for earning them, and when you have the badge you will start the game with that skill.++ **Badge Policy! One badge will be added for every 2k visits after 2k, and continue only under special circumstances(place to make another). Badges will mainly be focused on skills. When you collect a skill, you will get the badge, if you have the badge, when you join the game you will have that skill.**
