Sabine Pass - Texas, 1863 As part of the Vicksburg Campaign, a task force of Union ships was sent to capture the Infamous Sabine Pass at the border of Texas & Louisiana. As Union forces entered the pass, they were ambushed by enemy artillery and forced aground. This bitter battle would be marked with attrition from not only the dangerous wildlife, but the enemy too.
