    Der US Airways-Flug 1549 war ein Airbus A320-214, der drei Minuten nach dem Start vom Flughafen LaGuardia in New York City am 15. Januar 2009 ein Stück Kanadagänse nordöstlich der George Washington Bridge traf und infolgedessen die gesamte Triebwerksleistung verlor. Da sie keinen Flughafen erreichen konnten, gleiteten die Piloten Chesley Sullenberger und Jeffrey Skiles das Flugzeug zu einem Graben im Hudson River vor Midtown Manhattan. Alle 155 Personen an Bord wurden von nahegelegenen Booten gerettet und es gab nur wenige schwere Verletzungen. Der Vorfall wurde als das „Wunder auf dem Hudson“ bekannt.
