Ursprünglich war "Bastion" nur ein Begriff für die Welten, auf denen sich der Rat der Überresten und das administrative Hauptquartier vorübergehend befanden, und sein letzter Standort blieb bis zur Zeit der Kaamas-Dokumentenkrise ein streng gehütetes Geheimnis, wo sich der Imperiale Überrest kurz vor dem Frieden mit der Neuen Republik im Jahr 19 ABY auf Sartinaynian befand. Während der Yuuzhan-Vong-Invasion wurde Bastion angegriffen, was zum Verlust der Welt für die Yuuzhan Yong führte, die die Kontrolle über die Bastion übernahmen und sie fast zerstörten, als sie den Äußeren Rand einnahmen.
