                    I began programming when I was 13 on an Apple ][+ back in the late 70's (yes I'm old, my avatar is not too ironic) and started my professional career programming games in C for Berkeley Systems (After Dark, You Don't Know Jack) after which I moved to programming this new fangled "Internet" thing which I did at an eComerce company for almost a decade. After that I wanted back in the entertainment industry (not just games), so I've been working at startups for the next 25 years or so. I've used all kinds of technologies from PHP to Ruby to Java to C# and Objective C to JavaScript and Python. Sadly, most of the companies I worked for no longer exist (Presage, PopJax, Rocket Ninja, ####### as is the nature of startups. Most recently I worked at Kabam for several years programming in Scala (No, Roblox isn't using Scala). I love working at Roblox and believe in what we're doing here.

  • The Sky Island of Professor Beetle [showcase]

    This is my showcase of dangerous experimentation. New things will appear and disappear as they catch my fancy or fall out of favor. It's dark, I like dark, it allows me to control the atmosphere to a fuller degree. Things will likely be broken in dangerous ways. Areas will be under construction with things in chaos. I spend SO MUCH TIME getting the lamps to flicker just right. Sigh. Anything might explode without warning. The ground might vanish. Or nothing might happen. Enter at your own risk!

    A clean, bright area in which to construct things that will go on the island in due time. Right now it's about Airships and Halloween theme stuff. I've decided to make it active and open so people can check out how I'm building things. Not that I build things particularly well.
