  • Greeks vs. Persians, Battle at Thermopylae

    Are you a greek, protecting the Therompylae pass, or are you a spartan who is trying to break through??? Teleport back to when Greek was a bunch of city-states trying to protect themselves from the persians. King Darius had planned to attack Athens once agian but died before he could attack. Then Xerxes, Darius's son became leader and fulfilled his dad's desire. He built a bridge out of at least 700 boats crossing the Agean Sea and connecting them with wooden planks. He and his 180,000 soldiers crossed the bridge and headed where the Greeks were waiting, armed at the Thermopylae pass. While Leanidos fought on land, Themistocles, a thoughtful minded greek, went by sea to make sure the Persians didn't try to go though the back and then head on land behind the Greek soldiers and kill them. Themistocles and his ships plans were to put in their oars and ram a persians boat, in the end nearly 300 persian boats were sunk and only 40 greek boats were sunk. Comment telling me what i should add!
