The island of Los Cielos, located on the Baja Peninsula, was originally part of Mexico after its war for independence from Spain in 1821. Eventually the Free State of St. Paul controlled the island and the Baja Peninsula. By 1930 Los Cielos had become very prosperous and the City of Los Cielos had become the largest in population and tourism in the the country. Later in the 20th century the island was invaded by the Austratt Empire and the Free State of St. Paul fell. The Austratt's set up the satellite government of the Independent State of St. Paul. During this stratocracy life became hard in the country. The ISSP collapsed during the Resource Wars, leaving the area vulnerable to invasion to which the US did, as it had already invaded Mexico to secure its oil. Since the Great War the island has mostly been chaotic but one man has returned home to start a simple and small perfect community in his old neighborhood.
