ROBLOX is Kid Safe
In order to make ROBLOX safe for kids of all ages, and in compliance with the US
Government's
Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998, we offer a Privacy
Mode setting that parents can toggle to manage the communication and information
privacy of their child.
Accounts created by users who are under 13 have Privacy Mode turned on and "locked".
We then notify the parent by email that their child has created a ROBLOX account,
at which point they have the option, at their sole discretion, to change this setting.
For more details, please refer to the Roblox Privacy Policy.
I. Privacy Mode
When Privacy mode is on, the player is prevented from sending or recieving free-form
in-game chat. In-game communication will be limited to a menu of pre-approved utterances.
Similarly, the player will be unable to send or receive so-called "Private Messages"
to and from other players.
We also block all additional outgoing communication channels between your child
and the rest of the site. The intent is to make it difficult for your child to communicate
personal information (address, phone number, etc) with other users. To this end,
we block all places on the site where users are normally allowed to enter text.
This includes: posting in the forum, posting comments on places/items, and changing
the default names of places/items they may create..
